Skaven were not at all prolific during their time together, their actual releases stand the test of time as some of the most original crust recordings out there. They’ve influenced many bands that dabble in the massively Bolt Thrower-influenced war crust” genre, such as Stormcrow, Sanctum, etc.
For younger fans of metal and punk, Skaven is definitely one of those bands that make you want to kick yourself for not being born earlier. Upon hearing various anecdotes of their live performances and listening to their releases, such as this one in question, one can not help but be overcome by a sense of longing.
This release contains anything Skaven have done. The split LP with Dystopia is great, as is the split EP with Stormcrow, but this EP is apparently the only “stand alone” release by the band.
For fans of: Stormcrow, Sanctum, Deviated Instinct, Axegrinder, Dystopia, Dead America, Nausea, etc. Basically, if you like ridiculously HEAVY fuckin CRUST, somehow get your hands on this release. It’ll kick your ass. Great packaging with 2 posters + insert + booklet!
