HIATUS are not just a crust band, but a true institution of the genre! With their 1989 demo, they are probably the longest-running, most prolific, and most important European crust band (excluding their British counterparts, of course).
They’ve accustomed us to everything imaginable: lineup changes, members switching instruments within the same band, different musical directions while maintaining an unshakable consistency and keeping their feet firmly rooted in the dark underground of crust, and of course, years of… well… hiatus…
Two years ago, their iconic frontman Wills passed away, but, instead of disbanding, the group stayed true to the promise made to their close friend and carried on. In fact, they drew strength from his passing and threw themselves body and soul into writing new music and lyrics, as always against the system, multinational corporations, world leaders and wars, along with a special track dedicated to the never-sufficiently-mourned Wills.
This new release consists of seven previously unreleased tracks, which we could place somewhere between From Resignation To Revolt and The Brain.
