DOOMENTIA and HOODED MENACE come a long way: ever since the label offered to re-release the band’s sole demo ‘The Eyeless Horde’ as a classy 7 inches back in 2008, the two parties have worked together on splits (with ANIMA MORTE, COFFINS, ASPHYX or HORSE LATITUDES) and deluxe vinyl reissues of their first two albums and there are plenty more on the way! So why not starting the new year with a bang with a brand new EP, featuring some of their two heaviest tracks yet?!

‘Labyrinth of Carrion Breeze’ is the first recording to feature the band new HOODED MENACE line-up, including Teemu Hannonen who used to play with the band’s leader Lasse Pyykkö in the mighty PHLEGETHON back in the early 90’s. Whereas the epic “Chasm of the Wraith” is inspired by the classic 1970’s horror movie ‘Cry of the Banshee’, starring Vincent Price and features as a guest Pia from SERPENT OMEGA on backing vocals, “The Creeping Flesh” is based on the equally stunning motion picture of the same title with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing.

Recorded in their hometown of Joensuu, Finland and mixed in Stockholm at the Dark Prod studio by Andreas ‘Jonsson’ Westholm (also from SERPENT OMEGA) and Lasse Pykkö at
Horrisound with a, for once, quite colourful yet as disturbing cover artwork by Adam Geyer and ILSA’s drummer Joshy, those nearly eighteen minutes of audio terror just take things where 2012’s ‘Effigies of Evil’ had left off and run with them even deeper into Hell.

As it looks like, 2014 is going to be a busy year for the Hooded ones. And they couldn’t have started it with a better and more frightening release…
