Divided in two parts, this EP starts with the the colossal “Redemptive Immolation”, a testament on how death metal can be slowed down and played subtly without lacking any of the genre’s intense identity. It was somewhat similar to the atmospheric sound of Phobocosm, it’s heavy and doesn’t rely on individual technical performances to hit hard. The second track, “Wind’s Bane” is a fast and to the point track with a clear sense of direction and a cavernous and occult appeal. Dead Congregation’s force is their blackened death metal formula full of bounces and variety and they’re proving that they’re still one of the most interesting bands with this sombre release.
